Noise Station Let Loose
Hi Everyone,
Today I've uploaded v1.21 of my ancient tracker/music sequencer Noise Station. It was first released in 2001 for Windows 98, and the v1.21 update was made in May 2019. It still works, just, on modern computers, but the display can be a bit ropey, so some of the icons might be cut-off or hard to click. Ignore these visual aspects and you should be able to use it exactly as I did.
Noise Station is a music tracker/sequencer inspired by Amiga sample-trackers. The sounds are created using 'engines' - boxes which create or process sounds, so you can line these up to create complex sounds.
I used this software to create two or three albums of work, including the first version of The Spiral Staircase, some of The Flatspace Soundtrack, and many early game themes like the theme to Radioactive.
This can be powerful software when you can learn how to use it, though its somewhat ancient display on modern computers can hamper its utility.
Noise Station was published as a boxed product at one point, but here I am making it free for everyone. Perhaps you can find a use for it, and yes, even make a hit record!
