Burnout Released

Today I've released Burnout, my penultimate Amiga game from 1996 and the only game of mine which was commercially published. The game is a demolition derby with vehicles, and works well with multiple players. There are various rounds and bonus modes. Burnout was released in the dying years of the Amiga. I made a few graphics for Vulcan's hit game Genetic Species, then decided to focus on a detailed remake of my dungeon game Hilt. That game, Blade, became my last Amiga game.

'Theme From Burnout', a multi-track version of the main theme was recorded in the late 1990s using OctaMED's MIDI capabilities and an Yamaha SY-85 synthesizer. This extended arrangement of the theme music was re-recorded and released in 2021 on my album Nightfood.

Burnout is hires only which made it rather large for the day. It requires hard drive installation on an Amiga. I've supplied the game as the original ADF files, and an RP9 file with a pre-installed version on a virtual hard drive for use in Amiga Forever and other retro-platform emulators.

Enjoy playing.
